May 9, 1937 – July 22, 2022 (85)
Thomas E. Zagorski, 85, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of 47 years to Susan “Sam” Priebe Zagorski.
Born on May 9, 1937, Tom was the son of the late Michael and Rita (Polvani) Zagorski and was a lifelong Meriden resident. He graduated from Meriden High School and Wentworth Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Design.
Following graduation from Wentworth, Tom began working full time at the Meriden Foundry alongside his father, leaving in 1970 to begin working for Electro Mechanics/Branford Vibrator in New Britain where he would make his career, retiring in 2002 as General Manager after 32 years. Tom loved to stay busy around the house especially working in the yard. A patient man, he would take the time to first design and sketch ideas on paper before starting any new home improvement projects. Tom loved a good time and always enjoyed being a guest at his own parties. From Thanksgiving, Christmas Eves, to 4th of July’s at the house, he valued his time with family and friends. He was a dedicated husband, a protective and nurturing father, and a doting grandfather and never put himself first. A fair but firm man, he was respected and loved by many.
In addition to his loving wife, Tom is survived by his son, Jason Zagorski and his wife Brittne, and grandson Camden who brought so much joy to his life. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Londin and was predeceased by his brother Michael.
