October 4, 1948 – December 8, 2021 (73)
Paul Fabian Lewoc, 73, of Meriden was called peacefully to Heaven on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 while at home surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. He was the loving husband of Evelyn “Skippy” Lewoc (Recko), his beloved and tirelessly devoted wife. Born on October 4, 1948, Paul was the son of the late Fabian Lewoc and Marion Lewoc (Mocadlo). He was raised in a happy home in the Polish Dutch Hill neighborhood of Meriden which was shared by his brother Thomas Mark Lewoc, Sr. (Carol) of Cheshire, and his twin sisters, Darlene Lewoc of Meriden and the late Donna Yager of Cheshire. Paul’s youth was spent enjoying time with his siblings, cousins, and neighborhood friends playing outdoors. He attended Saint Stanislaus School and was a lifelong parish member. His childhood summers were spent at the Madison shoreline with his wealth of extended family. His love of the ocean and the outdoors were born in his youth and extended throughout his entire life. After graduating from Orville H. Platt High School in Meriden, Paul enlisted in the United States Army. He attended basic training at Fort Dix, NJ, and technical training at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD as a MOS E-5 Welder and then proudly served in Illesheim and Nuremberg Germany from 1968-1973 during the Tet Offensive era of the Vietnam War. Upon his return home, Paul worked as a welder, tin knocker, and journeyman at Atlantic Ventilating. During this time he met his first wife, Cyndi Kravontka Lewoc Miller (Peter), and began raising his precious daughters Sarah Lewoc (Neftaly Negron) and Brianna Sola (John). He was a devoted and loving father to his girls who was invested in their joy and success and taught them the value of family and tradition. He later retired from New Departure, General Motors Division, Bristol after working as a Tin Smith and during his retirement at Gaylord Hospital, Wallingford, as a Maintenance Facilitator and then at CMC Energy Resources, Wallingford, as an Inventory Coordinator until his illness. Paul was an award-winning and avid sportsman and outdoorsman who loved snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, paintball, and skiing trips. A jack of all trades, handyman, and an excellent cook. He was a Tennessee Squire for Jack Daniel Distillery, honored as member of the year for the Polish Knights of the Blessed Virgin, a lifelong member of the Meriden Rod & Gun Club, and the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks at-which he first met his current wife and love, Skippy. Skippy and Paul married in a sunset ceremony on the water and shared their love of the ocean, boating, and entertaining during their summers together at their cottage at “Little Colony” in Madison. Affectionately referred to as, “Uncle Paulie”, he was the designer and keeper of “Paulie Time” (if you’re not 30 minutes early, you’re late!), a true family man who is always there for his loved ones with a zest for life and a “tell it like it is” personality. Our world will not be the same without him. In addition to his wife, siblings and children, Paul is also survived by his beloved grandson and the apple of his eye, Aidan Lewoc, brother-in-law David R. Yager, Sr. (Beth), sister-in-laws Doreen Santaniello and Helen Drury (Bob), cherished nieces and nephews Thomas Mark Lewoc, Jr. (Rayna and sons), David Robert Yager, Jr. (Megan), Nicole Marie Silva (Steve and sons), Jared Mark Yager (Ashley), amazingly supportive extended family and friends and his grand-dog and best little buddy Jager “Shorty”.
